Welsh Dobermann Club Championship Show 19th August 2012
Bitches
Thank you to the committee for inviting me to judge the bitches, I would also like to thank the exhibitors for giving me the opportunity to judge their dogs and for their sporting acceptance of my placings. As an exhibitor myself, it can be a difficult task combining the role with that of a judge, I came to the show today without any preconceived opinions, I evaluated the dogs on their merit and performance as presented to me on the day.
Two observations that I made are that movement, particularly the front action is concerning with loose elbows and “toeing in” creeping into the breed, however all of my class winners moved satisfactorily. Also please pay attention to nails when preparing your dogs for the show ring, many exhibits displayed long and dirty nails which detracts from the compact, tight catlike shape of the feet.
My co-judge, Avril Stewart and I requested the decision of the referee Pauline Hart to award “Best in Show”, it must be stressed however, that we were not in disagreement; we appreciated the qualities of each other’s CC winners equally. BIS was awarded to “Jaegerson Man in the Mirror”, RBIS “Liason Latanya” and BP “Jojavik Molly Mobster”

Adequate length of neck flowing into a straight gently sloping topline and correct tail placement. Elbows held tight to brisket with enough forechest. A feminine head in proportion to body with good depth of muzzle, almond shaped eyes which are the darkest of colour.

She has a strong, gently sloping topline with correct tailset. Pleasing front assembly with well developed forechest and ample depth to brisket. Her head is in proportion to her body with the correct shape and colour of eye. I just preferred the more flowing outline of Molly Mobster.
